Valkyria Chronicles 2 was developed with the Japanese market in mind. Yes that’s right American and European gamers, there’s actually a market outside of your countries. Crazy huh? So just like Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest IX, moving a franchise onto a portable system with ad-hoc local multiplayer means that most players can get a sociable experience in Japan. Consumers are more likely to spend over 50 hours on a game if they can take it with them rather than having to set aside a block of time in the evening to play it.
