Leaked: Dynasty Warriors 7 Character Designs

Images have been taken from the Dynasty Warrior's Anniversary website by 2ch users. These leaked pictures depict several character re-designs from KOEI recently announced Dynasty Warriors 7, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

Earlier today, KOEI announced Dynasty Warriors 7, known in Japan as Shin Sangokumusou 6. Details are extremely sparse, with a teaser image being the only clue as to what is in store for fans of KOEI's popular hack n' slash series.

Update: Members of 2ch have managed to extract several images from the Dynasty Warrior's 10th anniversary site, depicting playable characters from the game. Among favourites such as Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun and Zhou Tai are five other re-designed warriors with one or two looking to make their debut in the series. KOEI Warriors, a specialist UK fan site has put together this banner, showcasing the leaked images.

    Just when I thought Xiahou Dun couldn't look even more bad ass, he does.

    I'm excited for this game. Hopefully it will turn out to be good.

    After monstering my way through Dynasty Warriors 6 I was a little disappointed. With a slimmer character roster and cloned weapon/move sets, it wasn't the DW I fell in love with.

    Agreed Gotenks, despite his weapon change in DW6, Xiahou Dun is still the BAMF of the series.

      I know! They didn't really give us many characters to use in Musou Mode which was unfortunate because it left out Ma Chao and a few other favorites! Hopefully they give everyone a Musou Mode this time around.

      And give Xiahou Dun his epic sword back.

    Yeh, I miss the Scimitar too. Having a seperate Musou mode for each character, each with their own unique cutscenes/mission briefings would make the ultimate DW package for me. Also, I would love to see the Destiny Mode from DW5XL which allows you to start off as a mere peon, working your way up through the ranks. Co-op online play wouldn't go amiss either.

    I want Sun Ce to have the tonfa back, having yet another spear user was pretty lame especially after how his fighting style really set him apart in previous games.

    Not a real big fan of dynasty warriors itself anymore. I really like Empires though, so 7: Empires wouldn't be far off. Should be fun.

    DW6 was a massive disappointment to me but it was an overhaul of the series and what happened before was when they made DW2, which was completely new to them, it was quite shit but once they got the hang of it DW3 was awesome. Since DW6 was a reboot, so to speak, I'll hope they've got the hang of the new systems well enough to make DW7 awesome.

    It's slim hope but hope nonetheless.

    And if it doesn't turn out so well, we have Sengoku Basara. Which just tosses out any notion of historical accuracy for the sake of crazy awesome.

    Yeh, I gave Basara a try and it's pretty neat. There's also Warriors: Legends of Troy which is out next month.
