Think Halo is #1 on Xbox Live? Well Think Again. Major Nelson came out with new numbers and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 still beats Halo: Reach in certain catagories.

Major Nelson has released the Xbox Live numbers from last week, which saw the launch of the much anticipated Halo: Reach. Despite Reach’s impressive sales numbers, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still retains the top spot with more unique users.

Yeeeeah... because a multi-platform game that's been out for what, a year or something now really compares to a 360 game that's been out for a week. I can so see the fair comparison.

Indeed, it's been out for a week and people are ALREADY comparing the numbers? Like you said, MW2 has been out for nearly a year so OF COURSE more people are playing that as more people have friggin bought it!

Give Halo a month and it'll be top spot of games played on XBL.

It's usually after three-four weeks a game will register it's peak number of players, why they expect it to top MW2 in a week is a bit stupid.

1: Unless I'm mistaken, which I'm not according to the article, this is based on the # of people on Xbox live playing these games. The PS3 and PC are irrelevant to this list.

2: Halo Reach just came out, while Modern Warfare 2 has been out for about a year. The fact that more people are playing MW2 when compared to a brand new Halo game that just released is impressive since only a fraction of people who own MW2 are still playing online, while almost literally every single person who owns Reach is playing online.

Overall, it's still an impressive feat. I'm not trying to say "OMG MW2 IZ FPS GAWD!" But you can't deny that it's still pretty impressive.

And, while it's true that most games' sales peak after about a month after release, Halo: Reach isn't most games.

Mostly anyone who likes Halo has bought every game minutes, hours or days after release, because each installment is so anticipated by them. Basically, I mean that I wouldn't be surprised that, if a new Halo game were released next week, any fan who's financially able would have the game by the end of week after next, even though one just came out.

Hey gaiz, let's compare one mediocre generic game against another and see who wins.

Nobody wins, that's who. You all only lose.

Hey Hideo, let's always try to waste our time making pointless comments, just to piss people off.

You win every time. Wait, no you don't.

Seriously, make a constructive comment for once. It's becoming sad.

        Hook. Line. Sinker.

Hey Drogo, let's tell someone he only makes comments to piss people off then make it obvious we're pissed off in hopes it'll dissuade him.

        Best idea ever

          Trolling is a art right?

A better idea would be to admit flamebaiting on a site where it's bannable.

Well apparently I always flame-bait yet I'm still here. Took what, four years to get rid of Final Blade?

        lol, Hideo, you're ridiculous.

I'm not pissed off, and you're a moron for assuming so.

I don't really care about what you say, I just wanted to suggest that maybe you, for once, make an intelligent, constructive comment. I've seen more sensible conversation in the comments section of a 50 Cent video on YouTube.

I rarely, rarely ever come here, but it seems like every article I read has to include you being an asshole in the comments section. I feel bad for the regulars here.

I also feel bad for you. Your life must suck, because otherwise, I don't see why you'd come here on a regular basis trying to get little victories to make yourself feel better.

Now go ahead. Make your predictable reply. Use words like "derp" and sarcastic smiley faces to win the "battle," as you probably call it whilst talking to your only friend, yourself.

Don't bother with this fool Drogo, he spouts his nonsense and then closes his eyes and ears when you throw logic at him.

          While we're arguing over semantics...

          quote Hideo1
          Also derp and

That's not a full sentence. Even if it were, you'd need a period at the end, buddy.

Way to look like a jackass. You seem to do that regularly, though.

Since when did sarcasm require a full sentence? Although I will feel free to point out your hypocrisy in un-constructive posting and clear butthurt-ness on the subject, so who looks like more of the jackass? The so-called 'troll' or the dumbass reacting? I feel like Ricky Gervais and you're Karl Pilkington.

          I stopped there. I'm sorry...

          I just....I can't do this anymore.

Someone wins by default. Either my patience or your brain didn't show up to the fight...

I think it's obviously the latter option.

See, it's always you retards who refer to it as a fight and refer to people as the winner and that dumb stuff you condemn then when I point out how if I'm stupid you're twice so for being involved and for being a hypocrite about it, it's always "Ah, whatever, I'm too good for this."

Either the entirety of gamegrep is a very elaborate joke you're all playing on me or you lot do genuinely have some kind of sad, egocentric view of the internet.

And it comes full circle. Your life must suck, because otherwise, I don't see why you'd come back here trying to get little victories to make yourself feel better. Congrats, you've won the battle whilst talking to your only friend, yourself.

          Peace out dipshit.

So comparing him to Pilkington is a diss towards Pilkington?

          Harsh words there, very harsh.

Both of them are overrated, but MW2 is a mediocre game imo. Reach beats it by a lot in my book.

*headdesks* Does it matter? At the end of the day its down to personal preference. IMHO both games such equally, so it doesn't matter to me which one is selling more.
