How much is Nintendo's latest Wii-specific exercise regime going to cost and when will it be released? Both fair questions following Nintendo's considered focus on Wii Fit during the recent E3 event in California. Well, how does sub-$70 and January first sound?

Pinches of salt at the ready, everybody - the website of a leading US game retailer has nonchalantly slapped a release date and price on Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii Fit. According to EBGames, Nintendo’s new fitness title, which was announced at last week’s E3 Media & Business Summit and will ship with the Wii Balance Board, is going to cost $69.99 (£34 / €50) and launch on January 01, 2008.

Well, I don't own the Wii, let alone pay attention to it, so I'm not sure about the pricings. However, aren't most Wii games below seventy dollars? Even so, this is quite nice. A Wii Balance Board sounds creative, and I have heard good things about this game. And on New Years Day, even better.

$70 isn't half-bad. Now...January 1st? Who the hell would go for one on New Year's Day? Meh, losers Too bad it can't make it for this year.

$70 isn't bad at all, but I don't think I will be buying it. I'll feel like an idiot doing exercises on a video game console. XD

EB Games is just pulling numbers out of thin air. I wouldn't trust them at all.

I'll be shocked if they get that thing out for under 70 bucks, and I'll be pretty happy about it too.

Wii Fit is a waste of money if you ask me. If I wanted to exercise, I'd go to the gym or spa to get some real exercise. Or better yet, play some DDR. DDR > Wii Fit.

That seems an okay price to me, I don't really mind. I saw the trailer for Wii Fit a few days ago, and it definatly interests me. The press-ups interest me the most, as arm exercise. I'm just wondering what other sorts of exercise could be done.
