onPause.org writes that Valve is due to release 'The Sacrifice' for Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 owners. The gameplay mechanic of sacrificing one player sounds pretty awesome. The original survives are included for L4D2 players.

Valve today announced that their latest DLC, 'The Sacrifice' is due out on October 5th. The downloadable content will be released for Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 at the same time. The sacrifice is a prequel to the previous 'The Passing' which was released earlier this year.
