Straight from New York City, we give you breaking news. Geek Squad is apparently selling PlayStation 3's advertised as "Firmware Upgraded" with extra cost associated.
Despite the fact that you can Even if you don’t have it hooked up to your PS3, you can get a free firmware update from the Sony website, put it on a flash drive, then install it on your PS3. If not, you can go to a public library, your school, or a Staples, or hell even a Best Buy Online PC, any of the millions of free online places and grab the firmware update, throw it on a 5$ flash drive, then put it on your PS3. This is outrageous no matter how you look at it.
Some one else even pointed out that you can get the update from Blu Ray Games that have the latest firmware.
But no, Geek Squad would rather charge you for this.

The sad thing though is that more people than expected will probably buy into it!
...but if you're willing to give them money for that. You kind of deserve to be ripped off.
