Confirmation has come from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) that they will in fact be releasing the new Slim PSP before it launches in Japan on 20th September. It will be priced at 169 Euros and will launch in early September.

Sony has confirmed that the new slimline PSP will launch in Europe before it arrives in Japan and will be priced at €169, as announced by David Reeves at E3 last week.

Speaking at SCEE's special E3 event Reeves told the audience, "It will come out at 169 Euros in all the PAL territories at the beginning of September." The new PSP is due to launch in Japan on September 20.

Wow, this may piss off Japan. They'd think they would get it first because...well Sony's company orginated from there and all. Oh well, it's still in the same month, not a big gap. Yet we still don't even have a date for it in the States.

Well seeing how the Japanese are so obsessed with the DS, i don't think it will affect them that much.

The slim PSP doesn't look all that different from the original, so I doubt the Japanese people will mind. The reason they went nuts over the DS Lite is because the original looked bulky and childish, while the Lite looked sleek and awesome. Plus, the PSP looked sleek from the start, so an update wasn't completely necessary.

Japan won't care. They'll be too obsessed with their Wii's and DS'.

    They'll care.

It's about time the UK gets something first. They're usually screwed over. Although I live in the USA, I don't really care myself. I thought the first PSP was slim enough.
