What Will It Take For You to Buy a PS3 Now

2 Old 2 Play has written an article going over the reasons why you, the consumer, would buy a Playstation 3 even at it's reduced price of $499. As the fall gaming release season gets closer we should finally get to see what system will take the crown.

It's easy to write a PlayStation 3 hate article, everyone on the Net has posted at least ten in the last six to eight months. But, what would it take for you to buy a PlayStation 3, for real?

The reasons for not buying a PlayStation 3 usually land into three categories (or maybe a few more):

* I hate Sony
* It's too expensive
* No games of interest

For those that hate Sony with passion... you're lost to us. The other two concerns can be nailed in due time, right?

    TBH. I'm waiting for the 120GB (silver version) to come out. I just can't settle with a black PS3. I also wouldn't mind a price cut. ^^

        It's called sarcasm. I didn't deserve a thumbs down for that <_< I'm a huge fan of the Playstation systems. PS1 had FFVII and FFVIII, two games I played for hours. PS2 had amazing titles, such as GTA III, MGS2 and 3, etc..

        The only thing I dislike is the level of fanboy/girl-ism that Sony's getting. It's *bleep*ing ridiculous. A console is not something to be worshipped. PC will always be more improved, anyways.

    I bought mine the day before the price cut was announced. That's my undying fanboyism to Sony. Of course, I have a Wii too. He's right, there aren't many current games of interest though. In the nextfew months, however, my shelf is gonna be stormed with new PS3 games so I can't really complain.

    The reason why I don't want to get a PS3 right now is because I'm focus on buying other things. Like I just bought my own car. Need money to tune it up ya know.

    There isn't much need for a game system but its a hobby, i for one like games i was raised on them since i was 5 really, thats why i support gaming. However i like Sony more cause i feel one they have great diversity in the company, very well balanced in games, seems like the better choice. And especially now since i keep hearing many fanboys hate Sony, and not just here many other sites i go to and i hate it when people judge the syetm now, it just came out. I wouldn't mind if they did judge it but wait for at least a year or 2 b4 doing so.

    i can buy 2 running vehicles for the price of a PS3. That aside, I'd buy a PS3 if it had just a few more games in the library that would make it worthwhile. Not to say that I can afford one, though.

      Omg, please stop, we get it, you for pretty much no reason hate sony. Wether you like it or not, the PS3 maybe expensive, but it IS worth it. As a gaming system by itself, no, but because of all the other shit it can do, yeah its worht it, more so now that its gotten cheaper.

    Well if you hate Sony, that's your own problem ... so it shouldn't really come down to that.
    Lack of games of interest should be solved pretty soon with all the amazing games tat are going out late this year / early next year ^^

    ... However, I think everyone would like a price cut, but I don't think it should stop you buying a PS3. This console with be able to carry you through the next 10 years at least ! So once you've invested the money at the start - its smooth sailing

    It they lowered the price another $200 then yeah, I'll buy it! Maybe some more games but, another price cut will do.Not to mention help with the sales.

    If I wasnt saving up for a Laptop I would get one tomorrow, £400 I dont mind paying that for the Ps3 =D

    The reason I don't want a PS3 is that I'm not fussed about how powerful a system is. I'm happy with my Wii, the games appeal to me more, so do the channels, plus it's cheap. So it's cheap entertainment. Also I'm a student so I don't have a great deal of cash, theirs other things I need to buy like cloths.
