MGS4 for Xbox 360 Released After PS3

A Japanese trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 on the Playstation 3 hints a release this Winter, sometime between December and February. Now the official XBOX magazine has made a statement saying that a reliable source has confirmed the game to be coming to the 360 a few months after the release of it on the PS3. Rumor or has Konami finally doubted PS3 sales enough to want to develop MGS for other platforms?

A Japanese trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 implies a release on PS3 this Winter (sometime between December and February), whereas the game's original E3 trailer stated early 2008. Rumors suggest the game will then make its way to Xbox 360 "a few months" later.

The latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine claims that a reliable source has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4 would be coming to the Xbox 360 "a few months" after the PS3 version's early 2008 release.

The rumor comes amid statements made last week that Konami may release the game on Xbox 360 due to soft PS3 sales. "Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," said company executive Kazumi Kitaue.

      Exactly... I mean they are doubting the many fans of the series it is like Halo 3 not everyone that wants that game has the console yet, you will probably find like 6 million people are waiting for the game to drop before getting a 360, the same could be said for MGS4.

        I agree completely. Even if this were true, it would not be released just a few months after the PS3 version. That's a lot of code to re-write, especially for a game that can barely fit on a Blu-Ray disc, so I'm saying this is just another rumor, although I wish Konami would just give a damn final answer. If I were calling the shots, I would have a lot more confidence in PS3 sales, seeing as how there are a shitload of titles coming out months before MGS4.

          I would have a shitload more confidence in PS3 sales just through the sucess of the last 2 consoles, there are millions of people, hundreds of millions to be closer to the mark that have a Playstation 2 and if those same people adopted the PS1 also then Sony are still looking strong, once those PS2 owners upgrade to the PS3 Sony will be laughing all the way to the bank... Just like the Xbox 360, 11 million sold the Xbox only sold 24 million for all we know due to its lower price those sales are just from Xbox owners upgrading, so Konami should have more faith.

          Existenz with all of the articles about the xbox 'failing' one said its barely doing any better than xbox did, and the X360 according to a site said its really 10.3 million not 11.5

    Wow. And here I'm thinking why I got a PS3 I doubt it'll make it to the 360, though. Besides, it's not like there's many 360 & MGS fans out there.

    They'll probably see how the PS3 version goes and if it doesn't go well, they'll release it for the 360 and see how it does.

    Ok let me point out that the official XBOX magazine probably came out b4 E3 when Kojima stated it was a Playstation 3 exclusive, so its a rumor.

    Here we go again with this internet rumour bullshit. I'm glad Sony has some dignity and doesn't go around spreading rumors about Halo or GOW perhaps coming to the PS3. I think this is the 3495th time I've seen an article similar to this. Sad.

    Also like some people here said, it's very doubtful that it'll work on the 360 because MGS4 is said to be very long granted that it's the final MGS installment. In order for the MGS4 to work on the 360, they'll need like 2-5 disks which is absurd.

    All you need to do to start a console war is to mention anything at all about MGS4 going multi-platform. Seriously, why can't everyone get along? And I love how everyone says "OMG ITS UNPOSSIBLE IT WILL BE ON 52349 DISKS!!!!11" If I don't have a PS3 by the time the game comes out, and it's on the 360, I don't care if it's like 4 disks long, I'd still buy it and play it.

    Why is everyone so against MGS4 being on 4 disks IF it comes to 360?

    Some of the greatest games of all time have come on more than one disk. FF VII and IX are on 3 and 4 respectively...

      Because my definition of next gen is an arm chair experience and to be honest if i am to be spending quite a bit of time getting out of my chair to change over discs which is a slow process for the 360 anyway... It just negates the fun, i mean it is like a movie people prefer the movie on dvd since the tv stations generally put commercial breaks in and it just spoils it i see games the same, yes in the past that Metal Gear Solid was on 2 discs but it was either 2 discs or nothing no other console could even support the game, Microsoft had the choice of HD-DVD and they said it wasn't needed so they are giving their gamers a less than next gen experience the way i see it once games get too big for 1 DVD, time has changed... No longer is it acceptable for games to be over multiple discs why do you think Blu-Ray was invented.

    I doubt that this game will go to 360. No solely because I don't want i , but because it can't without quite a lot of changes. As said, it would take up about 4 360 dis, but also as this game has been developed for th PS3 and no other console. The control system would have to be completely rethought, mostly as the 360 doesn't take advantage of the SixAis that the PS3 has.

    As said, its only a rumour though !

    Also, with the all new Sixaxis controllers on the PS3, it's pretty doubtful. Unless MS makes a sixaxis controllers of their own for the 360. Personally, I'm pretty much against MGS4 going to the 360 because it's the only real exclusive Sony has tbh.

    Not sure if its just me, but am starting to get bored of this rumour

    1 day its for the Xbox, the next day its not, either way its going to be coming out at a later date, its going to have several disks that can lead to start annoying people (I got annoyed with 2 on MGS1)

    I dont want it to go on the 360, if it does i dont think it will look even as good as the PS3 version, as the detail on the PS3 versions from the trailers looks awesome, i just cant see it being that smooth on the 360!! even though the console doesnt deserve to have a game like this
