Rumor - Sonic already in Brawl?

xsynergyx | July 21, 2007 | News | Wii
A scan of a magazine article came up on the internet not too long ago that confirms Sonic is already in Brawl and SEGA just needs to give it the go ahead. However, the article seems to be proven false, with number people catching errors in the article and the images looking fake. So is this real, or is Sonic not going to be in Brawl?
I’ve been following this story for a few days now, and I still don’t believe it to be true. Since the Sonic gurus over at Sonic Stadium posted, I feel a little bit safer making a post! Long story short, a magazine scan popped up that says Sonic is already in Brawl, and Sega just needs to give the final okay. Check out the scan for yourself (not in English). I think it looks fake…how bout you? Can anyone confirm? Thanks to everyone that sent this in.

I have a strong doubt that this is true.

    a) How many rumors get started in random Spanish magazines, and then turn out to be complete bull? That's right, there's a lot of them.
    b) Why in the world would Sakurai let something that big slip to a measly magazine such as that? Sonic being in Brawl is an even bigger announcement than Snakes appearance, so there is no chance that Sakurai and Nintendo would drop this news in anything but an official trailer in the upcoming Smash event, or as an update of the Smash Dojo website. Either this is fake, or Sakurai has the biggest, dumbest mouth in the video game industry, which I doubt.
    c) You can't just use other people's property in games. Sakurai has to have SEGA's permission before he can put anything Sonic related in Brawl. If this is true, Sakurai just admitted to copyright violation, and is going to get sued by SEGA.

Whether or not Sonic will be in the game, this magazine article is fake.

    Sigh.

Everybody wants Sonic in Brawl this bad. I personally would appreciate him in Brawl, but noooo. Has to be Snake. -_- Sad.
Agreed with above, if a rumor is sent out, it shouldn't be from some amateur SPanish magazine. Try CoroCoro, at least. A trailer would also be obvious.

I wish sonic was in brawl. It would be cool if they added characters other then Nintendo. I just wonder what his moves would be?

Sonic would be wicked. I don't know what moves he would do and everything, but it would be interesting.

It probably whould have been clarified that the game is Smash bros Brawl... I was trying to figure out what the hell 'brawl' was for a second there.

btw sonic is incredibly lame. Every game that touches sonic turns out to be a complete waste of time. I think the standards for the smash bros series are a little higher than that.

It would be cool if Sonic was one of the character unlockables in Brawl, but I seriously doubt that he will be in it. The article seems fake to me, but we can only hope.

I'd rather have Princess Peach .... or some other Nintendo character.

How so? Do you have any proof? Don't just say things without any proof.

This has been proved fake for a long time. Sonic would be great in Brawl, but SEGA owns Sonic, not Nintendo.
