X07 Cancelled and Confirmed

Mr Sponget | July 21, 2007 | News | XBOX 360
A couple of higher ups in Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg and Larry Hyrb confirmed the rumors. The X0 show X07 was canceled for this year. Xbox fans are disappointed because X07 is the show hosted by Microsoft dedicated to the Xbox 360. Last year, X06 had announcements such as Halo Wars, Banjo Kazooie 3, and Splinter Cell Conviction being a 360 exclusive.
Yesterday the Internet was awash with rumours that Microsoft's annual European event, X0, would not be held this year. Two Microsoft employees, Xbox Live marketing manager Aaron Greenberg and director of programming Larry Hyrb, both suggested that there wasn't going to be an X07. Now Microsoft has officially confirmed the news.

The official statement from the company is as follows: "I can confirm that we are not hosting an X0 event this year. We review how we demonstrate our fantastic games and gaming experiences every year, and this year we have decided to highlight blockbusters like Forza Motorsport 2, BioShock, Mass Effect, and of course Halo 3 on an individual basis rather than have one large event."

In years past, Microsoft has held the event in late September. As it stands, Microsoft already has a major event going on for that time frame this year with the launch of Halo 3 on September 25.

The company refused to comment on whether or not it would be holding a UK-based event this year in lieu of the pan-European X0.
