New details about Dynasty Warriors 7 have come from KOEI Tecmo's press conference including changes to both the story and the gameplay. For a full list of changes which have been revealed, follow the link.

The first and probably most important change to the game is which period of ancient chinese history the game covers. In previous Dynasty Warriors titles, the battle at the Wu Zhang Plains in 234AD marked the end of the game, though time around it has been stretched out to 280AD with the Jin Kingdom's unification of China, finalising the ROTK (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) era. With an extra 45 years to boot, there is an entire roster of new playable characters making their debut, with Sima Shi, Sima Zhao, and Bao Sanniang being recently announced.

I'm loving the edition of the Jin Kingdom. Good choice on Koei's part for that as I always wanted to play when Jin was active and it allows us to play a bit more of history. Hopefully Deng Ai and Zhong Hui are announced as characters now.

I never read ROTK past the era depicted in the DW games, but now I have added incentive to. I'm just hoping they get around to adding some sort of multiplayer component.

Correct me if I'm wrong but by the time Jin took over, hadn't Shu and Wei all but been abolished (Wei especially, since Jin usurped them)?
