This is a new feature by call of duty. You can now play Black Ops with 2 connected controllers on one system online. These are the facts that are included in the online split screen feature.

The Facts:

You can connect a 2nd controller and bring a Guest online (i.e. "JD_2020" & "JD_2020(1)").
Guests can rank up, earn unlocks, etc -- all Guest progress goes away once signed out.
(Xbox 360 only) You can bring a 2nd, Gold Xbox LIVE account online!
(Xbox 360 only) Both players with full online accounts can rank-up while playing split-screen, as if on two separate consoles.

    I'm glad to see another popular series finally implementing this feature. The Halo series introduced this with four player splitscreen upon the release of Halo 2 several years ago, but I don't think any other big titles have implemented it until now.

    I'm a bit disappointed they didn't go with four player splitscreen though, so it still hasn't taken it to the extent that the Halo series has.

      It's practically trying to copy Halo as much as possble now ; ;

      Especially with the fact that they now have the "Theater" were you can record and watch your matches and they keep boasting as if it's a brand new thing were as Halo's been doing it for a hell of a long time now =|

    If they had four player the match would be too crowded. There would be no room for the other online people. Im glad they didnt put in the four player but i am glad for the 2 player
