Sony didn't own rights to the Uncharted film license and Columbia is willing to part with a bigger wad of cash for it?

good question, I am sure Sony is getting money regardless. Possibly sold the movie rights to Columbia Pictures. Sony would never just let the Uncharted series go without receiving some money in return.

Three Kings was pretty well done, it would be hard to screw up such an amazing storyline and character though.

Never heard of this guy or his movies. Just hope he can deliver something half way decent.
