Are any of you fanboys or fangirls of a certain system or gaming company? Well, stop it because Fanboyism has been proven to be bad for the industry. Fanboys and girls will be stuck to one console, defending it in every possibly way and then snapping at the competition, finding ever possible bad thing they can find in it. (In their opinion of course)
Even, so, if they do love the their consoles, there is usually a little bit of love for the other consoles. Something that they must like in the other console. Nonetheless, competition is always needed. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft try to win over the other with better ideas and better gaming. If there was only one gaming company, then only one console would sell (very well in fact) and there would be no complaints, possibly causing the gaming company not to push further ahead to get out better things since there is no one to compete. Thus said, fanboys and fangirls, stop complaining.
The process that goes on with fanboyism is that people want to prove that they didn't waste their money on their console. I wanted to prove to myself that the GameCube was obviously the best selection of the three consoles of that generation. Fanboyism is purely fueled by that. They don't realize that they could actually have fun on a console they don't have. They resort to screaming pointless statistics or blatantly biased observations.
When I was a fanboy, I hoped for the failure of the PS2 and the Xbox. It's just another aspect of fanboyism. But if the PS2 and the Xbox had actually failed, it would have destroyed the industry. As much as all you fanboys out there hate the other consoles, competition is needed. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo keep each other in check. If we were to have only one video game manufacturer, the industry would be monopolized by that company, prices would soar and the consumer wouldn't be heard. With three companies, each company tries to please the consumer more than the other in order to maximize profits.
And what's that called? Capitalism. It's a great system. But fanboys don't like the idea of companies competing with each other; they would rather have one company rise above the other and control the industry.
Fanboys: Stupid. Ignorant. Spammers. Idiots. Commies.

Enough with that this article is stupid first off a fanboy is bashing other fanboys in this blog, what a hypocrite. Wow i love reading that it truly shows his intelligence.
If you get upset and defensive about other peoples opinions when they say something about your console of fanboyism choice then you are a fanboy. C'mon final, admit that you're a fanboy
I wouldn't bash any fanboy, i personally don't care about them. I don't have to admit something that im not. Though its an opinion(fanboyism) so why do most hate them really.
catch my drift? It's okay if i'm a fanboy. All my favored companies can succeed with Micro failing.. and the industry would still stand strong.
Microsoft is actually the one that is corrupting the industry. Sony tries to provide free internet gaming service, while microsoft is trying to deepen their fat pockets by charging poor gamers, making online gaming more difficult. They are also setting bad standards by not supporting their own hardware long enough, by producing the next one in a rush and deceiving their customers, denying for a long time that all their machines were faulty. They are trying to horde the exclusives with their money, throwing it around to steal games Japanese loved from the Japanese themselves! Attending again, only to hardcore gamers....
to be a fanboy doesn't mean you love only one Co. It can mean you like the ones Worth liking.
Please. Try to understand what the article says as a whole rather than jumping on the use of one term and dismissing the whole thing off that. It's clear from the article as a whole what "group" of people he is referring to.
Only reason I'd take sides is because some are just too thickheaded to understand those ups of a console that they don't hold favoritism over. The article is correct. It'll suck not to have competition involved, because we all have different interests, and it's actually good for business.
I mean, i've been fairly loyal to Sony but I made my purchasing decision carefully, I went based on a variety of things. It's only natural that i'd want my selected console to do well as that means more games and more people to play online with etc.
You know, I support fanboyism. Real people complain about sports and politics. Us geeks without lives? We only play video games. So, naturally, we HAVE to complain about that. Complaining won't make the companies all call truce at the same time and break the industry.
I explained that extensively in a previous Gamegrep post and yet we have finalblade here unable to comprehend that. Now look at what happens.
Each console is good. But they all suck too. In an extensive manner at that.
You there hovering over the thumbs. How will you respond to that?
If people attack someone for defending their console because some other cocky smartass comes with "My shit is better than your shit" or "your shit just sucks", then it's really not fair. A fanboy doesn't have to be an simple minded moron that talks out of their ass like everyone thinks they are.
I'd like to blame PC gamers for bashing consoles unecessarily, which is why I defend MY point of view. But I'm not gonna go around flaming everybody who disagrees with what I think. EVERYONE is a *bleep*ing fanboy, that's just a simple fact, you will ALWAYS prefer one system to another when push comes to shove.
