In an interview with Frank O'Connor of Bungie, rumours broke out about the Halo 3 game. The big thing on the interview is that when O'Connor said that you can play as Master Chief "if you choose to". Is he hinting that you will be able to play as someone else?

In this video interview, you'll see Frank O'Connor of Bungie asked about some of the details which may surface up in that "little thing" called Halo 3 coming out soon for the Microsoft Xbox 360. Let's see if we can break into his vow of secrecy:

So, what did we find out about Halo 3 today? Well, it did give us goosebumps when we heard that phrase announcing that "starting on September 25th, Halo 3 will record the biggest launch in entertainment history," but a lot of the questions definitely weren't answered. However, it really made quite an impact when O'Connor said that we can all play through the game as the Master Chief "if we choose to." We'll leave the speculating to you.

I'm guessing it's a choosing good or evil thing...that or a different colored Chief After hearing some reviews about it's Co-op, I'll consider this game.

Yeah, but different coloured-or-not, it's still the Chief ain't it?
Choosing between Good and Evil is happening quite often in recent games so I hope Halo doesn't follow this.

Interesting little - sort of - cliff-hanger there, I wonder what he meant.

The next issue of EGM is supposed to clear this up. You play through as Chief only for single player. You're only supposed to control another character(Arbiter only) in co-op.

It could be interesting to see if you play as someone else. In Halo 2 for Xbox, you played as someone else in co-op, right?
