Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Treyarch has always had a bad reputation with gamers. They were always stuck playing catch up to Infinity Ward. Could their latest title Black Ops help gain more awareness with the gaming community?
One of the most interesting developer stories to watch over the last several years has been the rivalry between Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Whereas the former has consistently shattered critical and sales records with each of its successive games, the latter has been Activision’s mandated “off-year” developer for the Call of Duty franchise.

But Treyarch never was really there to reinvent the game and make it there own up until now. Infinity Ward pretty much collapsed and because of it Treyarch are the main studio in control of the CoD franchise now. They get to add the sort of cool stuff IW had been doing all along now. Whether or not Activision specifically told Treyarch to hold back and just more or less use IW's tech up until now I don't know. Black Ops is looking more like MW2 should have. And if this was the game that was going to be released under the name MW2 ill bet you anything it would have been a 1000 times more popular. It solves issues rather then makes them. (Commando, explosive riddled gameplay that often frustrates you a lot more then it allows for fun)
All CoD games frustrate people online to a degree and im sure Black Ops will take part in that downfall to a point, perhaps it may be subtle now though as Treyarch seems to have really made a big push to try and balance out the gameplay a bit more. Often times MW2 devolved into mindless noob tubing and the sorts.
It may sound like I hate MW2 and I guess while that's true I did love CoD4 and was okay with WaW. You can't deny MW2 had/has it's share of problems though - just as black ops will probably have its own issues.
