Game awards, just like reviews, are merely subjective opinions offered up by self-proclaimed 'experts'. Ultimately, retail sales figures make or break a game, putting the consumer firmly in place as the only 'real' gaming expert that needs to be listened to. That said, these awards gatherings are always good for inciting fanboy riots - if nothing else.

Roll on with Part-03 of GameTrailers.com's E3 Awards coverage.

GameTrailers.com openly bashed Sony in the Most Disappointing category last time out, knocking the Japanese electronics giant for its pseudo-PlayStation 3 price cut, it’s uninspiring PSP redesign, and its lacklustre E3 press conference.

Furthermore, the awards have jabbed fanboys betwixt the ribs too, omitting first-person shooter nominations for Halo 3 and Killzone 2 because neither had playable content at E3 – which subsequently left the Best FPS award going to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

And this latest batch of GameTrailers E3 Awards coverage is probably going to stoke the fires of fanboy ‘discussion’ as well… especially in the Best Hardware category.

They didn't show any playable content?

Good news for CoD fans I suppose, but again quite disappointing.

On the best trailer section, at the end of the video before they announced the winner, the screen said "Best XBOX 360 Game."
    Heh, typos, heh.

Disappointing? How so? CoD4 deserves the hype, the recognition. It's one of the few that actually showed gameplay, and that alone made it impressive.

It's only disappointing from the view of a Halo or Killzone fanboy. Certainly good news all around for the more 'general' FPS player though.
