1UP's Live Coverage on MGS' Anniversary Party

It's been 20 years since the first Metal Gear production, and Kojima's going to live it up at this party with game footage of Metal Gear Solid 4. If you're a fan, you'd stay up past 1:30 a.m. PST to be the first to see it. Don't miss it!

Tonight, Hideo Kojima will start showing us what Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is all about, as the series creator strolls into the Ritz Carlton Tokyo for the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary celebration. We've sent GameVideo's Mark MacDonald, alongside the rest of the 1UP Japan crew, into the field for this momentous party, which promises much more than a bunch of champagne sipping.
At the event, Kojima will take to the stage and provide a live demonstration of MGS4. Expect to learn much more about the game's enhanced camouflage system, how the new camera from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence has been incorporated, what changes have been made to combat, our first look at the new Metal Gear Online -- and assuredly much more.

1UP will be live blogging the entire demo, so check back tonight at 1:30 a.m. PST. Yes, that's late, but we'll be here, providing you with the absolute latest. That's love, friends, pure love.

    I know. I have 4 hours of class tomorrow, and that's hell enough...will only get like 3 hours of sleep But it's worth it.

      I agree its nothing that needs me to stay up, though i usually stay up most of the night anyway.

    Well, two games won't be allowed to have any video. The 15 minute video of MGS4 won't be available for us to watch until around 10 AM Central Time. The anniversary stuff is looking pretty cool so far. I would totally buy some of that stuff!

      Eva was just confirmed to be in MGS4 D:

      Hideo is playing the game right now. He used the OctoCam to look like a statue as some soldiers passed by. He also does this to blend in with the floor and takes the guard's weapon when he surprises him.

      He used the Solid-Eye to zoom in on soldiers in the distance too!

    Eva looks all old and nasty now Metal Gear Online looks great though! There will be a closed Beta for it for 3,000 people. Sign-ups start some time today! It will actually begin August 20th I believe.

    I'm loving the new toys...graphics do look great during gameplay =D Got no sleep -_- But boy was it worth it! 3,000's pretty slim.

    15 minute Metal Gear Solid 4 demo TONIGHT !
    Loads of new information was already released this morning, but this is going to be the cherry on th op of their anniversary cake ^^
