A statement released by Naughty Dog elaborates on the "influence" that Ico and its relatives has on the next installment in the Uncharted series. The article describes possibilities as to what ND is alluding to and covers every nook and cranny that Ico has under its belt in the ways of story telling, gameplay, and the extreme lack of dialogue. The Uncharted characters are known for being very surreal with their dialogue, bodily movements, appearance and personalities. I trust the company to make another kickass installment in the series, but if they let the game influence the next Uncharted too much, it'll definitely be a step backward.

This could be big news, because taken at face value this could mean a complete departure for the Uncharted series. If they try to imitate Ico’s style literally, and take out most of the voice acting and sarcastic humor, and instead go for more heavy symbolism, this would completely change the feel of playing an Uncharted game.

Uncharted is to gaming what Die Hard is to films, and that's me being generous. Whereas Ico is more the original Matrix.

I don't like the Uncharted series very much but I understand why people like it, and I respect ND a lot, but (and this is the part which is going to get me flamed) this is the absolute most ridiculously *bleep*ing stupid thing I have ever heard anyone say.

Why don't you like it though? Do you simply hate TPS games or something?

Dislike =/= hate. I hate Bayonetta. I hate Enslaved. This I don't hate, just dislike.

To me, it's Indiana Jones without the charm. I don't like Drake or any of the characters, the gameplay's mediocre at best and I just don't 'feel' it, so to speak.

I don't really think we have anything to worry about. If Naughty Dog manage to take the series from the awesomeness of Uncharted 2 to anything less than excellent, I will be very much surprised.

I thought the change in quality from the first to the second was dramatic. Uncharted Drake's Fortune was pretty tight, but then the second one came out and blew everything out the water. If ND can do that again, I'll be happy, but I still would like an immersive experience that is story driven.
