After appearing in an ad for Call of Duty: Black Ops, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant is under fire for glorifying war and sullying the name of the troops overseas.

So why, then, are the hosts of “1st and 10” on ESPN getting their panties in a bunch, claiming action should be taken to punish Bryant for his inclusion? It makes no sense to me. I can understand people being a little sensitive about war being glorified while soldiers are, even as I type this, giving their lives for their country. But why is the commercial being singled out?

this is getting ridiculous, I am starting to think anti-gaming people have an IQ below 70 (which is legally considered mentally challenged). They need to be punched in the face repeatedly for these childish, ignorant, naive, bogus, ridiculous, many other very bad words reactions to a damn commercial. Kobe needs to say "When is my next violent video game commercial, that was awesome"

I love the implication here that mentally challenged people should be punched in the face.

The majority of soldiers aren't even offended by this commercial. So if the people you think this is degrading aren't even offended then where is your argument?

Why are they singling out him? Why not the other actors?

I can see the controvery in the ad itself though. It does seem to glorify war and guns, at least a little.

The article is referring to a talk show on ESPN, so of course their main concern is Kobe Bryant.

      ---------

The whole thing seems like discrimination against video games if you ask me. How many famous celebrities have been involved in movies where they fire guns, and they are actually shown to hit other people (unlike this commercial)?

Which might explain why Kobe is far richer than those hosts put together.
