Games Radar has tallied up the stats of the first half of the 2007 year to see who's winning the console war in 2007 alone. Using stats from Janruary to June, this is what they came up with. The DS is dominating with 2.7 million sales and the Wii is not far behind with 2.1 million. The Xbox 360 and PSP are tied at 1.3 million each and the PS3 trails far behind with 763,000 sales.

They also got the top 10 game sales for the first half of the year and 6 of the top 10 are for Nintendo, the PS2 and 360 each getting 2 each.

Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony - Titans of the videogame industry and sworn enemies on the console battlefield. But which of gaming's Big Three is winning the war in 2007 so far? Well, using the monthly US hardware sales figures released by market researchers NPD Group, we've tallied up the past six months worth of numbers (Jan-June) to find out how consoles and handhelds have fared in the States during the first half of 2007. Here are the results:

Total US hardware sales January-June 2007
DS: 2.7 million
Wii: 2.1million
Xbox 360: 1.3 million
PSP: 1.3 million
PS3: 763k

As you can see, Nintendo is currently cutting the competition to shreds with staggering sales for both Wii and DS, while PS3 numbers look decidedly unhealthy in comparison. The runaway popularity of Nintendo's machines is also reflected in the chart released by NPD showing the ten biggest selling games in the US for the year to date, with the Mario-maker occupying six slots. PS2 and 360 both have two games in the list, which means no show for any PS3 titles. Here's the complete rundown:

Top ten games January-June 2007
01 - Pokemon Diamond (DS)
02 - Wii Play w/ Remote (Wii)
03 - Pokemon Pearl (DS)
04 - God of War II (PS2)
05 - Guitar Hero 2 w/ Guitar (PS2)
06 - Guitar Hero 2 w/ Guitar (360)
07 - Mario Party 8 (Wii)
08 - Crackdown (360)
09 - Diddy Kong Racing (DS)
10 - Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii)

God, the Wii is so tiny in that pic. Yet it's made of 100% diamonds. Interesting...

I don't understand why they need to be so big. (PS3, XBOX360)thats probably why Wii is doing so good...

Laptops take up less space than servers; mystify over that quandry!

I personally think the Wii is dominating in terms of sales. I think the pic with the girl playing might boost the sales even more for the Wii. ^^

No shit. Add to the fact that it's the cheapest and most accessible console on the market and you have reason for its domination.

PS3 sales are disappointing, though. Finalblade told me it was doing much, much better.

Correction on that list, though... they called the Halo 3 beta "Crackdown?" What the hell is that?

Crackdown is the name of the protective packaging covering the Halo 3 beta invite. When you get home you're supposed to peel it and throw it away, like a banana peel.

However, unlike a banana peel, it also works great as a trade-in for Forza Motorsport 2

It's good to see that the PSP isn't doing horrible.

Yeah, could have been worse for the PSP. Nintendo sure must have a huge profit from this. Guess they'll use this cash to work on the next console.

The PSP is looking really good. If they only made it connect with the PS3 for extras, it'll be really great.

Lol, PokeMon Diamond + DS was hardly a surprise. And yet again, the Wii comes out on top.

DANG! nice picture. I didn't know the wii was that much smaller! I'm saving so much space by having a wii instead of the others!

Mario Party 8 outsold Twilight Princess?! Blasphemy ! Flagship launch titles should not be outsold by rushed second-party shit >_>...

Not too surprising overall. I am a little suprised that the 360 outsold the PSP. The 360 has hit it's low point for the first half of 2007 and the PSP has been out for much longer and gone through it's price drop. This is just the US, though. The PSP is selling better than the 360 in Japan. Hell, everything is selling better than the 360 in Japan.

Yeah, probably because they know their own machines won't burn out on them (joke)

I think becuase the lack of games, the PSP ain't doing too well. That's all. Hardly anybody thinks about it, the people I know.

Also, Has anyone noticed that the major of best selling games are all developed my Nintendo or are on a Nintendo console ??

Even though the PSP has a severe lack of games, its good to see that its nearly outselling the XBox 360 - Lawlz. Portable beats You !

Great to see Nintendo's sales going strong. A bit amazing to see the DS beat out everything though. I suppose it's a testament to the enduring popularity of the Pokémon series.

Nice to see Nintendo continue to dominate sales, but it is also quite interesting to see the PSP start to pick up the pace too. I didn't see that one coming. Pokemon selling like hotcakes? No surprise there.

    Lawrl'z. I see'z DS sales gueds.

In all seriousness though, the DS sales were going along massively great. I mean, it took me a good month and a half to get a DS Lite WELL after it was released. And that was before the poke'mon games came out. Even the Wii. I've only seen a few stores hold 2 of them at a time. They always get sold in the first day its there.

But, I do hope the X360 gets more credit for what it has on its way (Halo Three)

Even though I'm not really a fan of Sony anymore, I don't see the big deal with being in last place here. I mean, 760,000 consoles in 6 months is still a lot of sales.

Not compared to the others. Man, that Wii is small. It looks like it can be broken by breathing on it

I support Nintendo out of the competitors. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be the ultimate sales-booster.

Certainly is looking good for Nintendo.

Dominating sales right now and PS3 without a single game in the top 10. Hopefully things will be different over the next 6 months.

I hope Nintendo continues to the most awesome video game company for as long as it's alive. Despite the PS3's ultimate potential, no games are that good for it. Not yet, at least. It looks like a George Forman Grill ripoff.

Yeah, with all the Wifi, Clans and Teams, Pokemon Diamond as top seller doesn't surprise me one bit. Just look at the forum on Neo! Forum Rank: 0!

Ps3 seems to be catching up nicley though =]

Not really of you look at total. Also you have to remember the other systems are still selling not just ps3. It still has a lot of catching up to do. It did have more sales this month then in previous moths.
