Grab your plastic Gibson SG, pull on your best pin-heavy denim jacket, slide the moth-eaten hair band back across your head, slip the sweat protector wrist guards on, lace up your leather pants... it's time to ROCK! Although that's 80's rock, which really isn't rock, is it? What do the critics think of Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80s? Let's find out.

Despite the largely insipid track listing, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80s thankfully does not come complete with a hairspray-riddled rock wig, leg warmers, or spandex tights – so at least only the music exists to remind us just how shockingly bad the 1980s were.

Guitar Hero, phenomenon that it is, is known by pretty much every gamer alive at this juncture, and with Harmonix now focusing on improved interactivity and downloadable content options (via Xbox Live) with the much anticipated Rock Band, can Rocks The 80s still carve itself a niche in the musical marketplace?

Place your fingers in your ears and suffer the feedback emanating from the critical amps gathered together for one night only by GamerSquad.

    Thats rather harsh. 80's metal wasn't anywhere near as bad as some of the stuff that exists now. Critics need to get their heads out of their rears. >_<;

      There is a bigger range now so the odds are that some of it sucks but I prefer now then the 80s myself.
