Some Xbox fans may already be aware that Microsoft recently released a new version of its Xbox controller in USA as part of a plug and charge package and that it’s not due to be released over in the EU or UK yet. However, GamingZap has managed to acquire some and are among the first in the UK to supply the new controllers well ahead of release date! These are incredibly short in supply, but are available to purchase now.

The new controller has a silver finish and a monochromatic colour scheme, meaning the old coloured buttons are now several shades of grey. Visually very impressive, the true main features of the new controller however are regarding the changes in the analogue sticks and more importantly the transforming D-Pad.

I hate this controller. While the D-pad is much improved, why are the buttons gray now? The colors made them easier for casual gamers to get acclimated to. Not to mention there are a ton of games that tell you to press a certain button by showing a color, how can you play those sequences with buttons all in gray?

There's only 4 buttons. It shouldn't be hard to remember that a=green, b= red, x= blue and y = yellow. Although I do agree there is no point to making them gray.

Wtf, how do you not know where the A, B, X and Y buttons already are

It would mean shit all difference for me, who the hell looks at the controller whilst they're playing.

The point is I shouldn't have to remember what the colors are. I know where the buttons are Aussie, but sometimes it doesn't say B it just shows red and you are supposed to press B. Unless you have memorized the controller, which I would assume most gamers haven't, then this controller hurts them.
