According to GamerDeals, Microsoft has lost it's mojo after many downfalls, the top three being: All the Xbox 360 hardware failures, E3 2007 wasn't so good to them and Peter Moore leaving Microsoft. Microsoft seemed like it could easily take out the PS3 with a head start and some nifty games, but now, it's seems to be lagging, the Nintendo catching up quickly, the PS3 slowing gaining.

In the pursuit to topple the Playstation 3, Microsoft's Xbox 360 seemed to be on the right course. A full one year head start combined with some killer games lifted the Xbox 360 quickly into the #1 next generation console slot. Gears of War proved to be the 2006 holiday hit that hardcore gamers craved, but since then a string of bad news have stung the software giant from Redmond.

The Big Three include:

Xbox 360 Hardware Failures
A chorus of gamer polls and angry message board posts came to a head when one week prior to E3, Microsoft admitted that the Xbox 360 hardware was failing at unacceptable levels and announced a 3 year warranty extension for the dreaded 3 red lights hardware message.

E3 2007
Good games releasing this year were shown but the Resident Evil 5 re-announcement, Scene-it trivia game, and special edition Halo 3 Console announcements fell flat.

Peter Moore bolts to head up the EA Sports division
The figure head that Xbox 360 fan boys and Xbox division employees loved to rally around has left the building.

really? Peter Moore was famous? XBOX should get a nintendogs on their console. And NOT make it a first person shooter. or a racer.

Who cares? People still love their 360s, so what does it matter? If my console broke, I know they'd replace it, no matter how long it took.

I wonder why xbox relies so much on FPS than variety. And i think they never did lost there Mojo cause they never had it to begin with. 1.89 billion lost for problems this year sounds too much, and the 6 billion loss in 6 years is telling a flat story. Like the saying goes "MS never made a dime in this business or had a tail". Words from Peter Dille.

That's really Xbox's target. It's controller works very well for FPS games, if you ask me. See, most of these companies choose something that'll differ them from the others, something that has a huge fanbase.

FPS does indeed have a huge fanbase...me being one of them. Sony has my favorite genre down-pact, though, RPG's, and Nintendo carries on strong with their classic characters and adventure games.

Well how are they going to get more variety if there controller is specifically for FPS. I mean you would think it can't handle anything else.

It could, but since Xbox owners are making the FPS games the best-sellers for the 360, I don't see them branching off much anytime soon.

Which could be a big mistake, probably another reason why SquareEnix doesn't have plans for a FF title.

Wtf? You just said the 360 needs variety and then you said they can't get it? Make up your *bleep*ing mind.

I knew right from the day the Xbox was released that Microsoft should stay out of this territory. Sony and Nintendo have years of experience and know the market far better than Microsft, and now what I had predicted is starting to show some truth.

Gah... I dislike this so much. Being a good MS fan but still loving the other 2 companies, makes me always wonder, "Was buying this companies stuff a good thing?" But, at the same time, I've had so much fun over the years with the Xbox and the 360. So I do enjoy it a lot.

I was Sega back in battle. Sega Dreamcast = Pwnsauce.

I can't help but smile after reading this, I don't want XBox to go away, I just would like Sony to win this battle and this here info has re-enforced my decision not to buy one of these consoles.

It is indeed a bad run but i'm sure they'll fight back, they are still very much in the lead as far as i'm concerned.

The games have no varity, I guess that is kinda right. They will need to change this to beat the Ps3, as going by past years they did do this with the Ps2. God knows how many titles come out *sigh*
