FFXI wasn't a bad MMO, the leveling system was rather slow, but at the same time, it had its flaws... perhaps this expansion will help bring players back. It'll be hard to compete with WoW though.

I completly avoided this game. I didn't want an MMO from Final Fantasy. I'd rather play Guild Wars, where there's no monthly subscription =D

I've been playing FFXI since the first beta, it's still a very big MMO and growing bigger. It is the 4th (With WoW, Runescape, and Lineage II ahead) largest MMO at the moment. However, many people avoid it simply because it has a reputation of "being too hard". It's no wussy MMO like World of Warcraft, FFXI takes ALOT of time to advance and it's VERY challenging. Most WoW players try it out, they immediately piss their pants over the difficulty and go right back to WoW, completely unaware when you get to the higher levels, that's when the fun truly begins. There are even monsters that can take up to 2-3 hours to kill (such as Tiamat). This will be FFXI's 4th expansion, can't wait for it.
