Rockstar Games' hit Grand Theft Auto titles are notorious for attracting more than their fair share of controversy and, rather unsurprisingly, the latest addition to the series is no different. However the unlikely culprit this time around seems to be a feud among the gamers themselves. Ever since Microsoft announced exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content for its Xbox 360 video gaming system, rumours have been rife as to whether fans of Sony's PlayStation 3 console will receive a similar deal after the simultaneous mid-October release.
A recent unofficial statement by Rockstar spokesperson Hosi Simon confirms the exclusivity, echoing reports of substantial amounts of money being paid by Microsoft for the additional content.
Despite this, Simon reassures that both versions will otherwise remain totally identical.
When asked during a preview of the game whether there would be any advantage to owning the PS3 version that could rival the 360's exclusives, Simon said, "not that I can think of."
"They're identical games," he said. "We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want.
"But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose," Simon said.

He didn't say one way or the other which was the best console and simply stated the common sense. I know which one i'll be buying and like he said whichever console it is, you'll still be recieving great gaming experiance.
If money is involves, then its really just Rockstar being a little greedy - maybe to make up for the possible loss of Manhunt 2. Rumours like these are always flying around and are usually unproved ^^
I do not mind if they get anything extra, if they did I would not care less =]
It's up for the developers to use it though.
If GTA was an exclusive game, it would be better than a multi platform version. Because they have to balance the game out for all platforms otherwise fanboys would be crying and moaning.
If it was exclusive they could take advantage of the systems capabilities.
