Gamer struck by lightning while playing SNES

Yesterday, a 18 year old was mysteriously rushed to the hospital with a gamepad in his mouth and another in his hands. Turns out he was playing Mortal Combat with his cousin on a SNES. Then, he wanted to teach is cousin a move, so he held his own gamepad in his mouth and was holding his cousin's. Then, well, he got struck my lighting.
Yesterday gizmodo learned that a 18-yo had to be rushed to hospital after being struck by lighting while holding a gamepad in his mouth and another one in his hands. Weird? Well, it gets weirder: He was playing Mortal Kombat for SNES with his cousin. How and why the heck do you play Mortal Kombat with your mouth and two gamepads?

So how did he get the gamepad in his mouth in the first place? Well. There's a simple explanation for that: He wanted to teach is 8-yo cousin a trick in Mortal Kombat, so he held his own gamepad in his mouth while using his cousin's to do it.

Are you serious this article is so misleading, he didn't get struck but lightning xsynergyx, more like shocked by the electricity of the system. I mean sure it can be the same thing but most people associate lightning with Weather storms, unless he was playing the game out side i don't think it was from Lightning.

Anyway that sucks for him, i didn't realize the SNES strikes back like the ps2 zapping the drunken fool 2 months ago lol. All joking aside though i hope he is alright.

Yea it was a party to destroy there old ps2's and the one guy was so drunk he though pissing on it would be cool, unfortunately it was still plugged in and got a stream of electricity, what a loser. He deserved it for pissing on a console.

Hm, we should be careful. I'm sure that this would be avoided if the gamer was not barefooted. [ something tells me he was ]

He didn't get attacked by lightning, he was electrocuted.

Most likely his house got struck by lightning, and the console wasn't plugged into a surge protector. Surge went through the console and into the controllers, electrocuting him.

Actually that wouldn't normally happen, Besides the game was playing and the controller had electricity.
