5 Reasons The RE5 Trailer Gave Us Chills

xsynergyx | July 27, 2007 | News | Playstation 3
Games Radar has come up with 5 reasons why the Resident Evil 5 trailer sent their hairs upright and made them look behind them in fear. The reasons, in short, are as follows.

First is how savage the mob of enemies are in the game. Second is that there is no hiding place. You can hide, but they'll come in and get you through windows or broken doors. Third, is the megaphone man with the gimp. He bosses seem tough, mean and ready to kill you. Then, there's Chris Redfield, the guy who can move, whether slashing his way through a mob or leaping across a deathly gap. Lastly, who is that girl that makes a brief appearance at the end of the trailer. Could it be Chris' backup or his worst enemy?
Before we watched the new Resident Evil 5 trailer we were wondering how the hell Capcom would ever be able to surpass the brilliance of Resi 4. Now, after viewing the three-minute movie over and over (and getting chilly vertebrae every single time), we're confident that Resi 5 isn't just going to raise the survival horror bar, it's going to blow it through the corrugated iron roof and into the stratosphere. Here are five reasons that the trailer has got us super pumped about Resident Evil 5...

I just want to know if it's official that this game is coming out next year. I heard it may be pushed back. Looking amazing, though. Chris ftw!

This game is coming out either in 2009 or 2010 if there are any delays.

I've not actually seen it yet but ut's slap bang in the middle of downloading and from the screens I've seen it sure as hell looks freaky. Hopefully I won't shit myself. Oops, was that out loud?

Well, it is Resident Evil, so obviously it's going to be freaky, but now especially because it's going to be on the PS3. More lifelike obviously and more likely to Catfire shitting himself.

Well, I saw it a few minutes after posting that comment, and couldn't help but think that one of the zombies looked like the guy from True Crime New York. It looked freaky, although in places I found the graphics a bit disappointing, but I think that was because the graphics on RE4 were so good that it was hard to believe that we were moving up an entire generation of gaming.

I pray to GOD this game is scary. RE4 was a joke. Sure it was fantastic in terms of everything else but it wasn't nearly as scary as it's predecessors.

BTW, loving the guy in the second picture with the megaphone and all.

This seem like a Black Hawk Down, RE4, scarier type RE game which should be good. I like the Megaphone guy. Cool!

I downloaded the full trailer on my PS3 today and it's looking great. There are way more enemies on screen than ever before, and punching attacks and other moves looks like it will make for a funner action system than in RE4. I like the setting they are using too. You don't often see it in games.

I don't want to think about this game. It's going to be way too long until it comes out. I'm not teasing myself

though.. one worry I have is that this game looks more like State Of Emergency by Rockstar, than a Resident Evil that keeps your fear on high.. Instead it looks more like an adrenaline game...

Did you see how many people appear on screen at once now? Insanity. I hope there's a reasosn Chris is killing all those people. A rampage in Africa would be frowned upon.

Didn't RE4 already do much of this? Major differences are the number of enemies and the leader...which might not even be a leader...the real leader might be a giant Spiderlike monster that takes the form of a humanoid....oh wait...no...that was Saddler.

Not only does Resi 5 look really good, but it also looks really hard, so I completely agree with them in saying that Chris really does need to know so good moves this time around

At the moment, I just want to know why everyone is trying to kill Chris. They don't look particularly zombie like and I'm sure that its not going to be another parasite ...

No where to hide, that simply makes this stand out for me now over the others. Not being able to get away from them, so cool =D

I hope it is hard too, so I will be playing this game as much as possible. Chris needs moves even more impressive than what Leon had in RE4 to stand a chance against these nasties.
