It has been a long wait, but finally Sony has announced the PSP2, currently codenamed NGP. Some of the highlights of it are dual analog sticks (not just nubs), a larger screen with a 4 times higher resolution then the original, and touch sensitivity on the front and back of the device.

Check out the source for even more information on this newly announced portable.

Looks solid. If software holds up, they may go toe-to-toe with the 3DS even though it will have almost a year head-start.

Pricing will decide whether it lives or just trudges on like the first PSP not actually winning, but not really losing.. I mean in traditional hand-held combat Nintendo generally won by beating the competition so badly they gave up.. It couldn't do that to the PSP so it didn't lose, but it didn't win either lol.
