Following some loose-lipped chatter at Comic-Con, Metal Gear Solid gaming fans placed outside of Japan have been thrown a morsel of hope to cling onto regarding the appearance of the superb 20th Anniversary MGS Collection on North American shores.

And now, the potentially exciting bit: this first-rate collection could - we repeat, could - be seeing a US release, according to hints dropped by Konami reps at Comic Con International, the annual comic book convention that’s held in San Diego. GamerSquad hopes against hope...

    quote GamerSquad
Retailing for ¥6,250 ($53 / £26 / €39), this quite splendid package contains the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and DVDs Metal Gear Saga and The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2. "Bargain" is a shamefully overused word, but it applies here.
Looks like an unmissable collection for Metal Gear fans, especially those new to the series! Would be great if it saw a worldwide release.

Wow...even though I have these games, this is quite the bargain...$53? Less than a game price. Would be great to brush up on these while waiting for MGS4.

The PS3 can't play PO though, seeing as it's on a UMD.

Oh my god... I want this just because of those awesome discs and case... I'm having a MGS fan attack.

They should put them all on one Blu-Ray disc, that would be *bleep*ing unimaginably awesome.

A PS3 release as well as a PS2 release would be nice, but why not include Twin Snakes? Still locked away in Nintendo exlusivity? It'll be alot nicer to play PO on the PS2 though.
