The lastest figures from Hitwise show that the most looked for console is the Xbox 360. The Wii has lost it's position, the Xbox 360 overtaking it by a hair. They thought it might be because of all the searches for the extended warranty, but Bill Tancer of Hitwise thinks overwise. Hitwise data shows that searches for 360 problems and repairs are listed as #13 and #15. It also states that in the past for weeks, there were 70% more searches for a 360 price drop than a PS3 price drop.

The latest figures from Internet monitor, Hitwise, show that the 360 is the most searched for console, overtaking the Wii for the first time since its November launch (in the U.S. at least). Since the Wii launched in November it has reigned as the most searched for console name, but the 360 has just nudged past it. It might be speculated that the increase in searches is the result of unhappy punters wanting to find out about their warranty extension. Bill Tancer is the general manager, global research at Hitwise, thinks otherwise, however.

"Hitwise search data indicates it is not... Searches for 'xbox 360 problems' and 'xbox 360 repair' figure at #13 and #15 on the list [of most searched 360 terms]". The figures also indicate that there may be more demand for an Xbox 360 price drop than for one on the PS3.In the past four weeks there were 70% more searches on the term “Xbox 360 price drop” than for “ps3 price drop” in the US.

It may be the most searched console, but it won't mean anything if there's no sales.

probably people searching for it because they don't Know about it. Sony and Nintendo are well known, so they won't be searched for as much as Xbox, which is still new to the gaming industry

Most probably the reason, or because they need tio know about the recent faliures of the console.

This really isn't a solid article, just because people look for it doesnt mean they are interested in getting it

    Who cares.

    Its the selling that counts!

Yes well an increase of searches for the console may therefore lead to an increase of consoles sold as more people decide to buy an Xbox 360 after searching and finding out info.

      Long shot yeah but still.

A lot of the people where I live have 360's than any other console.

Probably because once one idiot gets one, everybody wants/needs one...

Searches mean nothing repeating what everyone else said its sales that count.
But it may of course mean the 360 could come up to the top in the future but it has been out the longest so I am surprised it isn't top already.
