Great (potential) news for console-owning first-person shooter fans not already appeased by the likes of Halo 3, BioShock, Call of Duty 4, Haze, and many, many more... as developer Crytek has intonated that Crysis could well find its way to next-gen consoles.

The day after Epic Games' Mark Rein stated that PC gaming technology (with Crysis cited as currently being the PC pinnacle) would be stifled for years to come by the profiteering of home consoles, today brings the closest information so far perpetuating the hope that Crysis might just be heading to the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.

I don't understand, haven't the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game been working on for months maybe even years? I believe I saw a preview on the game over a year ago, this article makes me believe that currently the game will not be on PS3 and 360, only that it is a plan?

This is really good news. I've seen videos of this game thinking, "These graphics are amzing. I must play this on my 360 !!!" Imagine my surprise was I learned that it was a PC-exclusive at the time.

First they say it can't be done on the 360 or PS3, then when they hear Mark Rein mouthing off, it's suddenly possible! *SHOCK!*

Though i still stick by that... The PS3 has no issue on the physics side and can probably simulate DX10 very well and a very nice frame rate, and the 360 could also simulate DX10 at a nice frame rate though that console would not be able to do all its physics i don't think.

Mark Rein probably just blew the cover that they were coming out with this so they just released that they would in the end =/

Indeed the trailers are looking meh, cant wait. Killzone though that will be the top game for me easilly over this.

I could care less if it did. I'm getting it on the PC, better off for the PC version with most games. I just feel that we get more out of it than the console versions.
