Yesterday we brought you the supposed advantages of the Wii Airplane Controller peripheral, and today we introduce you to the equally useful and appealing (cough) Nintendo DS Lite flexible suction-cup-equipped gameplay stand. So many utterly pointless peripherals, so little time.

The ¥1,480 Yen (about $12 USD) device allows you to snap your DS Lite into a slightly raised cradle and at an angle indeal for copious amounts of stylus tip-tapping. The stand (which is available in either black or white) can then be secured to any flat surface thanks to the suction cups on its base.

Of course, the thing is almost completely useless if you want to take your Nintendo DS anywhere in it, so to save yourself the embarrassment of oddly bulging pockets, GamerSquad recommends keeping the stand at home.

DS stands are not as useless as you think they are. I'm enjoying the adjustable one made by Hori, which, by the way, can handle a DS phat as well. This one fails.

A device used solely to make a portable console, un-portable? I won't be dipping my hand in my pocket for this one, thanks. It doesn't solve any existant problems with the Lite...
