Despite Konami's statements to the contrary, which were aired at the recent E3 Media & Business Summit in Santa Monica, the 'it will' and 'it won't' rumour mill continues to grind the grain of contention surrounding Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Today is a distinctly 'it might' take on the argument.

Some things, it is valid to say, never change, and here’s another one: the debate over whether or not Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will go multi-platform will rumble boringly on.

Yep, less than three weeks after series creator Hideo Kojima stood on a stage in Santa Monica and reassured us all that yes, Metal Gear Solid 4 would be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, here’s Konami Digital Entertainment President Fumiaki Tanaka to upset the applecart again: "As we are aware of the popularity and hardware-driving power of this software franchise, going forwards we are open to taking this franchise across to other platforms."

If just everybody would just shut up, LISTEN if all of you want Metal Gear Solid four so bad, buy a Playstaton 3 and shut up. Lying about it isn't going to change anything because when it's shipped out and just for the PS3 you can't do anything, and by then all the PS3's will be sold out because everybody will want this game.

It's going to be one of the best games for years to come.

Because everyone does have £425 in their wallet willing to spend on a Playstation 3 just for 1 game?

I understand your frustration but thing is persuasion plays a big part in life and if there is a chance of MGS4 moving to Xbox 360 then I as a 360 Fanboy am going to try my best to make it possible for the move to happen.

There is no possibility and thats fact, Kojima stated this 3 times, and the fact that its 50GB does seem to go right over some people heads.

I know. More rumors and "It's coming on our console!", countered with "No it's not!". There have been eleven perfect facts of evidence that it's going to be exclusive.

    Uhhh....ok...so...

Developer says...No, it's staying on the PS3 AND ONLY PS3...

Publisher says...We can take this over to other platforms...

This is either bad persistence or bad communication...either way, don't you need developers to make it possible?

If the PS3 fails, it's gonna happen. If Sony continues to heal from the damage at release, the nah, it will probably stay on the PS3.

    This just wouldn't die ...
    Its definitely a PS3 exclusive and it's definitely staying a PS3 exclusive.
Kojima himself has stated that he doesn't want it to go multi-platform and at the end of the day its his game ! ... Plus Sony sent his nice presents for Metal Gears 20th Anniversary ^^

Why can they not give up on this, Mgs wont be on the 360. I can not see it happening after recently what has been said and released by Konami. Why would they go against there word

There's plenty of reasons as to why they could go against their word, more money, to please the fans, but at the end of the day perseverance may pay off, and if it does I will be grinning so badly.

Keep dreaming bud...after it's been announced by many Sony execs AND by the very director of the game itself...going back on their word at this point in time is basically illogical in every possible angle.

...by the way...does anyone remember that Kojima was the one to establish the exclusivity a LONG ASS time ago?
