Review Round-up: Mario Strikers Charged

mistermostyn | July 31, 2007 | News | Wii
Can Nintendo's larger-than-life take on the world's most popular sport prove itself a hit with the critics as well as fans of Mario and serously over-the-top sporting action? Let the cream of the online reviewing world (?) lead the winning (or losing) team out onto the pitch as GamerSquad presents its latest Review Round-up: Mario Strikers Charged.
Essentially a bizarre quick-fix take on ‘the beautiful game’ Mario Strikers Charged arrives as a frenetic limited-attention-span offering that might not attract the more dedicated and hardcore football fans. However, it probably will pull in a huge action-hungry chunk of the Wii’s existing demographic, and a considerable amount of those who ordinarily wouldn’t be drawn to the sport.

The proof is in the pudding, or – if you prefer – in the back of the net, so let’s see what the gathered critical fans think of Mario Strikers Charged. Does it scuff a clearance into its own goal, or slam in a 30-yard screamer that takes the goalkeeper with it?

This game is so awesome. I just finished a match online and experienced no lag at all. That's good, especially since I experience lag all the time on Xbox Live and PSN.

I just played a few online matches as well, and my only problem was when I was beating this dude and the connection was "lost"...

I was only beating him 4-0 in the first game...

I've read that you can play online with more than one player on each Wii. If that's the case, I'll have to buy another Wii Nunchuk.

Yeah, you can play 4 player matches online if you have 2 people per Wii. And that's pretty sweet.

This game sounds good, I might get it some time. I love the online idea.
