MK fan favorite character Raiden has been cast in the upcoming live-action Mortal Kombat: Rebirth web series. With filming under way, the casting news has slowly been coming in this week as actors film their roles.

Actor Ryan Robbins has joined the cast of Mortal Kombat: Rebirth to portray Raiden, who we all know is one of the most powerful characters in the MK universe. It hasn’t been detailed how Raiden will be adapted for the grittier world of MK: Rebirth, so for all we know Raiden could end up being the Police Commissioner or superior for Jax, Sonya and Stryker, which would make sense to me. But MK fans may be happy to hear that a few teases have been made by those involved in the production of MK: Rebirth which has pointed to Raiden possibly being a full-on thunder god as he is in the games.
