Epic about to “get its ass kicked” by Halo 3 - Rein

mistermostyn | July 31, 2007 | News | XBOX 360
It may come as no surprise to BungieBoys to learn that Epic Games' Mark Rein has announced that the landmark performance set down by Gears of War is likely to be blown out of the gaming water when the Master Chief and Halo 3 hit retail shelves in September.
Epic President Mark Rein has admitted that the various sales records set by his company’s Gears of War are highly likely to be decimated when Halo 3 launches on the Xbox 360 in late-September.

Not that Rein is terribly bothered, mind. "All those records we broke with Gears of War are going down on September 25," he conceded

I would rather play Killzone than Gears, since it looks great even in pre alpha state. Oh and i can't wait for it to come.

Well they may be worried, but I'm gonna still play Gears after Halo 3 comes out.

Of course you'd rather play Killzone, finalblade. It's for the Playstation 3.

Anyways, I hear Gears ia a fantastic game. I don't see it being forgotten about, just Halo 3 will ripple over it and people will still play both.

Well i was merely saying that since they say halo 3 will massacre gears. Hmm i bet Killzone could match halo 3 after all Kill zone looked stellar in pre alpha state just think of the final product.

I can't stop my friend going on about Gears of War these days, even though when Halo 3 comes out he'll stay in his room for 3 weeks he'll still play Gears of War lots too.

It doesn't matter whether Halo 3 is good or not, people assume because its Halo its gotta be good, so they will overlook its faults and then say Halo 3 is the best no matter whether it is or not.

Personally I think Halo 3 will dominate and overshadow all other FPS shooters this year, not because it deserves to but because consumers are idiots

I would agree with your first statement and that the fact it is a Halo game people (if there is major fault to downgrade it from Gears) will still play it a lot more. I dont think there is much way of stopping that.

Meh, same thing will happen when Gears of War 2 comes out. Halo 3 is a game that's this year, and people do want a new decent shooter...an anticipated shooter, so it's rather obvious.

Not really surprising Halo already has 2 successful sequels behind it and is highly anticipated, but Gears of war still made some huge achievements that won't be forgotten I'm sure.
