Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Analyst Michael Pachter is suggesting that should and might, release a High Definition Wii in the next 2 to 3 years. Customers may soon get bored in the lack of graphics, see more of what it can actually accomplish and demand for high-def and Pachter predicts Nintendo will reply.
"Consumers may hope for improved graphics, and my guess is that Nintendo will comply," said analyst Michael Pachter in an email to GamePro.
"In two or three years, commodity prices for graphics processors and CPUs may decline to the point that a High Definition Wii could be introduced. If so, Nintendo will likely introduce one," he added.
The statement comes as several industry pundits suggest that Wii's success will gradually fade given the console's dated graphics technology. The long-standing argument is that both core and casual gamers will grow wary of Wii's novelty once Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics hit their full stride.

If the Wii does eventually go HD then good ! But by that time I'll already have my PS3
I really don't care about the graphics on the Wii. It's all about the gameplay.
If they're so worried about a possible decline in future sales, then they should just worry about making more fun, party-orientes games aimed at general audiences, rather than getting HD technology to improve graphics.
Nintendo doesn't need HD for now since their best games aren't supposed to look extremely real
Really, HD takes up quite a bit of processing power. With the Wii, either the framerate will take a hit or the game simply won't look nearly as good. Again, the successor is most likely HD, according to Nintendo themselves, but the Wii will not be. I'm guessing Nintendo will release their next console early this time around, perhaps give the Wii a 4-year lifecycle instead of the normal 5. Just like the XBox had. The GC was dead it's last year anyway, so it really is pretty much the same for it.
If I make enough being a soccer referee in the spring then I might get a Wii or PSP.
