Recent complaints from Project Gotham Racing 4 developer Bizarre Creations over the lack of storage space offered by DVDs have been used as evidence by Sony that it was right to include a Blu-ray drive in the PS3.

Sony America spokesman Dave Karraker has declared that the company’s decision to include a Blu-ray drive in the PlayStation 3 has been vindicated by recent comments from the developer of Xbox 360 racer Project Gotham Racing 4.

Karraker told GamesIndustry.biz, "We took a lot of heat at launch for including Blu-ray in PS3. Now it looks like that investment is being justified. Next generation games simply need more space on the disc to contain all that high definition content."

Of course it's a right move. Of course DVD9 sucks and that's why PS3 games could be better than 360's.

Microsoft should have at least put HD-DVD in the 360, I mean with the Wii it makes sense since it doesn't need a lot of space but when you are toting graphics and size as your big guns you need more space than normal DVD9 can offer

Major Flaw in 360s case for not adding it, in the long run this will just come out as a fail for Microsoft. Hopfully they will add it in there next console as then they might be able to compete better.

Yeah, half the reason I got a PS3 was because of it's Blu-Ray capabilities. It's the cheapest Blu-Ray on the market last I checked...just like with the PS2 and DVDs, more than you bargained for.

I should hope the blu-ray was a good investment. So far things are looking to great for the Playstation 3, hopefully this is a sign for the better.

Well, theres a lot of great things going to happen with the PS3. Of corse, the Xbox can always add in its HD-DVD in the next updated console. THough, spending 800 (Including last Xbox 360) bucks on one console is a bit much... -_-.

I'm proud the PS3 is doing good. Though, I wish Microsoft was doing better than they are now. =(
