Coming from the world of Fire Emblem it is Ike! He can wield a two handed sword with one hand. He also brings his special move "Aether" to the game. And try for a single-stroke finishing blow with his blade to win.

From Fire Emblem, Ike appears! The fact that he can wield a two-handed sword with a single hand is a testament to his magnificent strength.

He brings his special move "Aether" with him as he crashes the Brawl party. Try for a single-stroke finishing blow with his mighty blade!

Wow, they added Ike. They most Likely made him based off of Roy/Marth from SSBM. They frames shown looks as though he was based off of them.

  Yeah I'll bet they probably have, he looks rather idential to Roy and Marth so it wouldn't come as a suprise would it.
  
  I enjoyed playing as Roy and Marth in Melee, I hope he is similar as he may become a favourite character of mine.

Dammit, I wanted Lyndis for FE7!!! Or least one of the Pegasi brigade from the series. But I guess Ike is more recognizable to more gamers because he was the main character of the GC title. No doubt though, this is big news and will make LOTS of fans happy.

Ike looks like a fun character to have in this game. I loved playing as Marth and Roy, so kicking ass with a different Fire Emblem character sounds FUN.
