Sony begs players to give PS home another chance due its current failure. Not many players are playing Home or have even considered playing it because of the lack of content when it launched.

It’s hard to believe that nearly two years have passed since the launch of PlayStation Home, an online hub where gamers can interact with others socially, download content, and ... no one really knows what else. After the project failed to receive a positive reaction from gamers and the media, Home seemed to vanish into obscurity. As a relatively new PlayStation 3 owner, I frequently come across the Home selection option, but overlook it and head straight to my game, never thinking twice of downloading the online feature. That’s just the kind of response Home has managed to evoke.

Well I use Home a lot, and spend most of my time helping and chatting with the Home Community and the Home Dev Team. To be honest Home is very nice and everything; however, it's beginning to move in a direction that has changed from its original intention, into something more of an MMO it feels, with games being centric and the social aspect of it, being neglected.

To download or not to download... Since I just got my PS3 a short while ago, I'd much rather catch up on the games I've missed rather than waste my time with Home.

Home is pretty interesting if you get into it. The problem is the amount of loading and lack of atmosphere in quite a few places.

Haven't checked it out lately, might do so when I have some time.

      Just to add

"Since Home's release on December 11, 2008, the amount of users has went from 0.2 million to 17 million, originally nine games to 236 games, originally 114 virtual items to 7,000 virtual items, and originally 25 events to 600 events"

It has been a long time since I've played Home. I think the last time I played was a few weeks after it launched. I was a bit disturbed after being hit on by a random guy (I'm a girl, so I used a female avatar). Since then I haven't really bothered with it.

Aside from that, I just didn't find it that interesting. I might give it another go at some point, just to see all the changes.
