According to PC Advisor, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, the same company that produced both the 90nm and 65nm processors for the Xbox 360, are currently working on a 45nm processor for a videogame console which will be released within the next 18 months. Most likely, it's for the X360.

A semiconductor manufacturer in Singapore that created the Xbox 360 processor has told PC Advisor it is currently developing an improved CPU, most likely for use in Microsoft's console. Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing says it will produce a 45-nanometer processor for use in videogame consoles within the next 18 months. Are you shitting me, I submitted this article in yesterday. Anyway, this new processor should fix most of the ongoing problems with the X360.

I sent it yesterday morning... it just now got approved or whatever.

This processor won't be out for another 18 months or so. The 65nm chips, though, with the help from the extra heatsink, will most likely fix gutic's only argument against the X360, aka the RRoD.

Actually, i don't think the smaller chips will help. Neither the new chips, i mean the PS3 has been sky-rocking in sales while the xbox has been declining as said on a article.
