"mandatory install: 4GB free space on your PS3. It is without any doubt one of the biggest mandatory install ever on PS3."

Shows how much you know, there are other games with bigger install files such as Gran Tourismo 5.

I remember when 4+ GB installs were common. Fallout 3's is around 6 or 7.

They have been off the mark with the demos... The 360 version had some major game changing glitches at the start, and now this with the PS3?

A big mandatory install? I always found it weird when installs WEREN'T in the 3-5 gig mark.

What I find weird is that amazing games like Uncharted 2 can operate with very small installs, whereas other less demanding games require huge ones.

It's all about how much effort is put into the game. Crysis 2 for the PS3 is a port, so naturally it gets a lot less love than an exclusive franchise. With fully realised PS3 hardware there really isn't any reason why an install should be anything approaching this big.

Uncharted 2 is specifically designed for Blu-Ray and the PS3, as it's an exclusive. Multiplat games are not.

That's not weird at all. In fact it makes perfect logical sense in every single way.

    The PS3 version is terrible..

I played a bit of it last night after getting a coffee to stay awake during matchmaking which took 25 minutes to connect. Once in game the visuals were washed out there were frame drops, severe pop in, lower res textures and my TV even told me the game was running in Sub-HD 1024x720 which is terrible.

I then played the Xbox 360 version..

I was allowed to skip the whole Crytek/EA initial logo's something you can't do on the PS3 version, loading was a lot faster.. Matchmaking took about 10 seconds to connect which in total I went from logo's to in-game in about 2 minutes which is great. The graphics are a lot better, the colour levels are deeper and fuller, there is less pop-in and even under extreme conditions frame rate stays steady and the game on the Xbox 360 runs at a native 720p unlike the PS3.

Quite a turnaround considering Crytek have pretty much stated wholeheartedly all the way through development that the PS3 version would be the best version on consoles. They pegged that back a bit and yesterday in a Sony interview stated that the games side by side look identical on PS3 and 360 which again still isn't true.. Crytek need to start telling the truth as many people are going to buy this game and are going to get a shoddy product.

The matchmaking thing could be 1 of 2 things:

1: Xbox's demo is just alot more popular
2: XBL is acting better than PSN when it comes to multiplayer on Crysis.

Either way I don't care though, I'm too happy playing the MK9 demo xD

And here I was thinking shoddy PS3 ports were a thing of the past...

It sucks coming from a company like Crytek as well.
