Take Two execs Strauss Zelnick and Ben Feder explained that it was the company's decision to delay Grand Theft Auto IV. The reason that it was pushed back to Q2 of 2008, was "almost strictly technological problems... not problems, but challenges." They said that the game is sure to release on it's new date.

In a conference call with investors earlier today, Take-Two execs Strauss Zelnick and Ben Feder explained the company's decision to delay Grand Theft Auto IV for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. Zelnick chalked up the Q2 2008 push back to "almost strictly technological problems... not problems, but challenges." They said they were "highly confident" that the game will ship within its new release window.

Asked whether one console in particular was the root of the problem, Zelnick diplomatically responded that "I know there have been rumors in the marketplace about frame rate and some other issues. We don't think it's helpful or beneficial to go into exact details of what the technological issues are. We're pushing the envelope on both the platforms." Crap. Now I don't know which torch to light!

I bet a lot of people are going to blame the 360 for this because of previous statements in regards to working on the console. I don't think it really matters why, as long as it is ready come Q2 of '08.

Well to be honest if the 360 couldn't run GTA IV at a stable frame rate without pedestrians and cars in the world then that seems the common fault, the PS3 has no issues aslong as they use CELL to some potential.

Existenz, just shut the hell up please. They never said anything about it being the 360, so here you are right on schedule blaming it. Honestly, what is with PS3 fanboys making random accusations all of a sudden?

Me being a PS3 fanboy I guess a bit more then 360 I would blame the PS3, I believe they have it so the game cant come out on 360 before PS3 and I believe it was PS3 errors with programing which I read. So I blame that but to be honest I don't mind waiting as long as they are updating a bit more.

Almost every game has been pushed back, just because this is GTA doesn't make it perfect. We should be happy that they aren't rushing the game out, because they could do that and the game would be crappy and still make great sales.
