    Typical *bleep*ing Nintendo.. Add a gimmick to the device something that sounds expensive, price it up at $250 a good $149 more than it costs them to make and watch it fly off the shelves.. I know they are a business but that is pathetic.

      Wow... That's just pathetic. Really can't believe the amount of money Nintendo is ripping out of peoples hands. The article tells the truth, I know people that bought the 3DS yesterday and are already sick of the 3D it's just another stupid gimmick Nintendo are raking in the money over.

    It makes sense to me. They're a business, and they determined that the 250 dollar price tag works with their business strategies. Who knows, maybe if they priced at at like 150 or something they would make a complete loss in the long run and then Nintendo would be dead. I don't know everything, but what I do know is that there are a LOT of factors involved in the price, and that this isn't a simple profit loss game like managing your own lemonade stand.

    Typical of any company really. Any and every company in exsistence strives make the maximum amount of money as they possible can. Given the same circumstances, Microsoft and Sony would do the exact same thing.

      But.. they haven't. Just look at the PS3. Sony is actually losing money. Then look at the NGP. It has all that power under the hood yet it's only 20 dollars more than the 3DS.

        That's a rumored price which I highly doubt is even close to the real price. And I said under the circumstances. The Ps3 and the 3DS are not the same circumstances.

          How are they different circumstances, exactly? Just because one is a home console and one is a handheld doesn't mean that the circumstances are necessarily different.

          The only true difference in circumstance is that Nintendo has a bunch of die hard fans and people that will buy pretty much anything they make because they buy go all-in with the gimmicks. As a result, Nintendo can charge as much as they want as long as it is less than the competitors (or in the general range).
