Electronic Arts have announced that SKATE will hitting the shop stores by September 12th for the United States and September 14th in Europe for the Xbox 360. As for the Playstation 3 version, that will hit American stores on September 24th and Europe on the 5th October.

A Demo will be available on the Xbox 360 on August 15th.

EA will release a SKATE demo on Xbox Live Marketplace on August 15 that will feature tutorials and gameplay challenges in San Vanelona's community center skatepark to introduce gamers to SKATE's Flickit controls. The demo also includes the innovative skate.reel feature where gamers can capture video footage of their skate session at any time during the demo and share the footage online at www.skate.ea.com for other players to view, rate and comment on.

    I dont think this will beat Tony Hawks to be honest, it dose have some good features coming in its way but what I have seen of it, nothing looks special. Its just the talks that the creators have that makes it look any good.

    This is going to blow away the Tony Hawk's games, I honestly do believe that period. Once I get my hands on the demo and understand and learn the concept of flick it controls there will be no doubt in my mind that it will take a hell of a lot of effort to overthrow SKATE as the best skateboarding game out.
