Thanks goodness Todd Howard of Bethesda has some reason! It turns out that at one point, multiplayer was being considered for the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim...

Multiplayer would have been good, but only if it didn't compromise Single Player. Either way I'm happy with the decision.

they consider multiplayer for every open-world game they make. It's just that they feel it would divert resources away from making an epic single player experience, therefore they prefer not to make that sacrifice. Which is why I respect Bethesda so much. They don't skimp on single player for the sake of multiplayer (coughCODcough)

CoDs multiplayer isn't good at all either so..

I agree with you though, I love Bethesda. I think multiplayer would work sort of well if it wasn't player vs player and just you join someones game and explore the world together, online co-op.

Yeah, I really feel they could have at least thrown together an online co-op mode where absolutely nothing changes except you have a second person along to battle, gain experience, etc. with. Pretty much make it like the Halo co-op (completely different genre but bear with me) where your 2nd guy is ignored by the story and just there for the ride.

I always found it curious that Halo could have its co-op tacked on without much critical notice, but any other game that does that too, for some reason requires a deep context to the feature.

          But that's besides the point.

Co-op may have been entertaining, but I'm glad it's not in the game.
