Bethesda, the developers popular for the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, has announced its first game for the Nintendo Wii. Although it isn't what RPG fans are hoping for, it should attract a different crowd of gamers.
No, it's not Oblivion.
Bethesda, famous for The Elder Scrolls series including their massively popular Oblivion, have just announced their first game for Wii. It's not quite what the RPG fans were hoping for, but it should get a totally different crowd interested - apparently, their first foray into the Wii is going to be through the final frontier. This is the voyage of Star Trek: Conquest.
Coming to both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2, the game will feature a mix of action and strategy elements and will take place in the next-generation era. Strategically, players will need to manage limited resources while building an empire, controlling fleets, admirals, buildings, researching technology, and choosing where and when to fight.
Players won't be strapped for races either, having access to Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces, each apparently with their own set of unique strengths and weaknesses. Tactically, once battle has started players will need to get into the thick of it, engaging in real-time combat by flying the ship with the nunchuk while shooting away with the Wii remote.

Sorry, but the two audiences don't mix....though Beth might pull it off.
I'm not interested in playing another PS2 game, especially a flight combat game based on Star Trek. Really, Bethesda, do you expect this to sell well? As said above, the audiences don't mix. I'd guess the PC is by far the most profitable audience, then perhaps the Xbox 360.
Geuss what "I am getting" for Christmas.
