Mark Rein announced today that Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 will feature mouse and keyboard support. No news has been revealed on whether the 360 version will also support this.
Mark Rein (Vice President of Epic Games) has officially announced that the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 will have mouse and keyboard support. He confirmed it over at the official UT3 forums today.
“Folks,
I checked with Steve Polge and he said that YES we are supporting keyboard and mouse in Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. He is confident we are doing it in a way that will be balanced without feeling “gimped” for either side. We’ll also allow people to choose whether or not they want to allow mixed controller vs. keyboard/mouse games or not.
I think you guys are going to love UT3!
More details to come later.”
When asked about the 360 version, Rein said the following:
“Nothing new to report about 360, sorry.”
And then another post shortly afterwards stating:
“360 Users: please do not hijack this thread. The game is only coming out on PS3 and PC this year and then will appear on 360 next year. As soon as we have a better idea on 360 release timeframe and features we’ll announce it but don’t expect any news on it before the end of this year.”
Pretty neat to give gamers the choice of what control style to use and what kind they will play against. Those with weak comps (and decided to buy a PS3 instead of decking out their PC) but can’t stand to play shooters with a controller can rest easily now.
Guess I was right ^_~
I suck at console FPS, beyond comprehension
Rock with a mouse and keyboard
I wonder which will be the advantage, the SIXAXIS or the mouse.
